Keeping Our Children Safe: Planning Ahead and Being Prepared 2023-2024
In this course, teachers will learn about potential safety hazards in child care settings and how to address them. The course includes information about planning for emergencies and how to respond to specific emergency situations including first aid and CPR procedures. Through interactive learning activities, participants will gain a solid understanding of how to keep children safe while they are in an early care setting. This course covers the CCDF topics of: "Building and physical premises safety," "Emergency preparedness and response planning," "Storage of hazardous materials and biocontaminants," and "First-aid and CPR." This course aligns with Subject Area 1 and is worth 0.4 CEU's.

This course can be utilized to meet the training requirements to earn or renew your Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. Course content is aligned with the CDA Subject Area 1: Planning a safe and healthy learning environment.
